George N. Yoshida
George Yoshida, a native of Hawaii, retired as a licensed clinical social worker at the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado. In 2007 he was recognized for his active service in the Denver community by receiving both the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award and the Mile Hi JACL Pacesetter Award. In 2008 he volunteered for the Japanese American National Museum National Conference in Colorado.

On March 14, 2008, Representative Rob Witwer presented House Resolution HJR08-1010 to rename part of Colorado Highway 285 as the “Ralph Carr Memorial Highway” which passed in the Colorado House of Representatives and Colorado Senate unanimously, in honor of Governor Ralph Carr who stood up to protect the Constitutional civil rights of Japanese Americans during World War II.
