Mariko Kage


Mariko Kage is a contemporary dance artist, enjoys gardening, holds a 2nd degree blackbelt in Aikido, and has been teaching integrated Aikido for over 25 years. As a mother of seven children and a mobilizer, she worked to support programs and services for Indigenous youth over the last 20 years. She has been living in Lillooet, BC for 12 years, co-founded the Miyazaki House Society in 2012, and spearheaded the Japanese Canadian Internment Memorial Garden and Kiosks Project in 2017 to honour the three former internment camp sites in the Lillooet region. She is pursuing her MA in Intercultural and International Communications at Royal Roads University.
