Armstrong Theatre in Torrance! Titled&nbsp\;<em>&ldquo\;Utayabira Wuduyabira&rdquo\;</em>&nbsp\;&ndash\; which means &ldquo\;let&rsquo\;s s ing\, let&rsquo\;s dance&rdquo\; in&nbsp\;<em>Uchinaaguchi</em>&nbsp\;(the Okinawan language) &ndash\; this biennial concert is one of the only recu rring events in Los Angeles that celebrates and shares the performing arts of Okinawa.\n\nThe music of Okinawa ranges from festive to melancholy wit h soulful singing and a traditional 3-stringed lute called&nbsp\;<em>sansh in</em>. Other instruments include&nbsp\;<em>koto</em>(zither)\,&nbsp\;<em >taiko</em>&nbsp\;(drum)\, and&nbsp\;<em>fue</em>&nbsp\;(flute). The event will also feature the popular drum-dancing group\,&nbsp\;<em>Ryukyukoku M atsuri Daiko&nbsp\;</em>&ndash\; Los Angeles Branch (translated as &ldquo\ ;Ryukyu Kingdom Festival Drums&rdquo\;).&nbsp\;The&nbsp\;<em>taiko</em>&nb sp\;group will be presenting a 20th Anniversary show at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Theater on&nbsp\;October 17th&nbsp\;of this year.\n\n<em>U tayabira Wuduyabira&nbsp\;</em>is organized by the OAA&nbsp\;<em>Geinobu</ em>&nbsp\;(Performing Arts Committee) and will highlight eighteen local Ok inawan performing arts groups.&nbsp\;The 100+ performers in their resplend ent and traditional costumes are sure to dazzle the audience with their ta lents in classical as well as folk music and dance.
