Did your family ever speak about camp? For many Japanese Americans in the community, the wartime experience is a difficult, painful subject to recall. But it is vital to remember -and cherish- the firsthand memories we still have with us today. We are calling upon the community to help expand our archive of oral histories and bring their family's experience to light.
Join us for a workshop to learn how to record and set up your own interviews with friends, family, and community members. We also invite people to come directly to the museum to have their stories recorded and archived by our passionate docents and volunteers.
If you are interested in sharing your internment-era experience, please email us at oralhistory@jamsj.org
