This special Ethnoise! workshop presentation by shakuhachi grand master Michael Chikuzen Gould emphasizes the historical roots of shakuhachi in Zen culture and how it was used by monks in their daily lives. A demonstration of shakuhachi will be included, and students will also have an opportunity to try playing shakuhachi themselves.
