Japanese artist Aya Takano's colorful paintings of wide-eyed, androgynous waifs caught in surreal fantasies distinguish her from the rest of the workers in Murakami Takashi's studio. Poetic and personal, Takano's dreamlike works are fashioned from her overlapping interests in manga, science fiction, traditional Japanese culture and early European modernism.

Through Dec. 12
